All The Designers Showcasing At GT BANK FASHION WEEKEND 2019


The 2019 GT Bank fashion weekend is fast approaching and this years edition comes off on 9th – 10th of November, 2019 at Plot 1, Water Corporation Drive, Victoria Island, Oniru, Lagos. As we approach another fashion season we would like to focus on the designers who would be showcasing at this years GT BANK Fashion Weekend.




Palesa Mokubung creative director of clothing label Mantsho is a high and clothing line that deals with effortless silhouette, structure and quirkiness and happens to be the first African designer to collaborate with global retail giant H&M. The brand has a combination of colors and monochrome style to their finishing. Mantsho would be showcasing on 9th November, 2019 in Lagos for the GT Bank Fashion Weekend



The Odio Mimonet label is a Nigerian fashion label that fuse art to create wearable and unique pieces for the everyday woman, Odio Mimonet would be showcasing on 9th November,2019


3) Three ASfour

Three ASfour is an avant-garde label renowned for the fusing of cutting edge technology with the fusing of cutting edge traditional craftsmanship to create clothing at the intersection of fashion and art founded by Gabriel Asfour, Angela  Donhauser and  Adi Gil the label has showcased at prestigious landmark location such as Cooper Hewitt, The National Museum, The Brookyln Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum in London amongst others. Three ASfour would be showcasing on 9th November, 2019


Viviers are created from a place of passion to allow the wearer to be their radical self. the clothing line founded by Lezanne Viviers that describes the regular wardrobe for every woman who wishes to push the envelope when it comes to their dress. Viviers would be showcasing on the 9th November, 2019


Nkwo is a Nigerian brand that has been around for  while after first launching in 2007 by NKWO ONWUKA. The brand creates artisanal and limited denim cotton made in Nigeria by fusing handcrafting and weaving in giving their brand its unique finishing look. Nkwo Official would be showcasing on 9th November, 2019



Founded in 2014 by Dan Ayi Mandodo is a Zimbabwean ready-to-wear brand driven by the philosophy of surrealism, harmony and other natural fabrics with their new collection dubbed “SEED OF ESTHER” we absolutely cant wait for Haus Of Stone to present at this years GT Bank Fashion Weekend on 9th November, 2019


7) Thula Sindi

established his eponymous fashion brand, in 2015. The brand quickly gained a loyal following amongst women who appreciate well made, intelligently-designed and reasonably-priced clothing.

Now ranked in the top tier of South African designers, Thula Sindi carved a niche for himself after showing at South Africa Fashion Week in 2005. Since then, he has gone on to show his collections in Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, Paris and many other cities in the world. Thula would be showcasing on the 9th of November, 2019



Lanre da Silva is one of Nigeria’s leading high-fashion couturiers.

She started the LDA brand in 2005, since then, her work has gained international recognition, featuring in top magazines like Vogue. She was the first African designer to have her label stocked at the Dolce & Gabbana Concept Store in the heart of Milan, Italy, the hub of international fashion.

On Sunday, 10th November, 2019, Lanre Da Silva will showcase her newest collection on the runway at the GT Bank Fashion Weekend



Fruche is a Contemporary Nigerian fashion brand birthed by Creative Director, Frank Aghuno, with the aim to empower women through fashion and focusing on a new generation of strong, powerful African women.

Frank Aghuno emerged onto the fashion scene after winning the Fayrouz L’Original show in 2015. Since then, the designer has been carving a niche for himself in the fashion industry. Fruche Official designs have been worn by A-listers such as Chimamanda Adichie and Dakore Akande, amongst others and its debut collection was reviewed on vogue Italia.

Fruche Official designs have been described as fun, quirky, edgy and in some sense radical.
On Sunday, 10th November, 2019, Fruche will showcase his newest collection on the runway at the #GTBankFashionWeekend.



10) STUDIO189

Co-founded by actor Rosario Dawson and fashion executive/Bottega Veneta alum – Abrima Erwiah, Studio 189 is an artisan-produced fashion lifestyle brand and social enterprise with an aim to drive change using fashion as their vehicle.

The label creates unique garments made in Africa by skilled artisans that celebrate traditional crafts like indigo dyeing, weaving, and batik. In addition to artisanal collaborations, Studio One Eighty Nine focuses on empowering communities in Africa through creating jobs, supporting education and skills training and partners with organizations such as the United Nations ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative, NYU Stern School of Business.

The brand currently operates a store in NY and Accra and has collaborated with brands including Lexus. EDUN (LVMH), Fendi, Nike, Okay Africa and Yoox Net a Porter. Studio189 would be showcasing on the 10th of November



Omar Salam is the Senegalese-born designer behind SUKEINA, a global fashion brand worn by some of the best-dressed women in the world including Naomi Campbell and Natalie Vodianova.

He studied fashion at the prestigious Parsons School of Design and founded Sukeina in 2012 after over ten years of working behind the scenes at fashion powerhouses like Madame Sonia Rykiel in Paris and Christian Lacroix.
Salam specializes in head-turning statement looks and has created more than eight exquisite collections that strike a resemblance to wearable art.

Sukeina would be showcasing on 10th November, 2019



Born in Queens, New York, LaQuan Smith started his brand at the age of 21. His distinctive work sparked interest among fashion icons and risk-takers including Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Kim Kardashian.

Since its formal debut in 2013, the brand has gained acclaim for its endless archive of distinctive garments and details. Laquan Smith has cultivated an equally dynamic private order clientele which spans the globe from Lagos to London. Smith’s unapologetically glamorous aesthetic has also been tapped by world­ renowned brands including Tidal, Samsung, Microsoft, and Verizon.

Laquan Smith would be showcasing on the 10th of November, 2019



Based in Nigeria and founded in 2012 by Og Okonkwo, Style Temple started out as a made-to-measure fashion brand. In 2016, the women-focused brand pivoted to ready to wear and couture.

The brand draws creative inspiration from the beauty of femininity and the desire to complement the female form with edgy, accessible, and timeless clothing. Style Temple styles in soft fabrics, soft lines, curves, and geometric forms. On Saturday, 9th November 2019,Style Temple will showcase her newest collection on the runway


The multi-award-winning label Ituen Basi was launched in 2008 and has since become a pioneer in promoting the style, individuality, and feminism of the African woman.

Ituen Basi, the Designer behind the label is credited to have creatively redefined the Ankara fabric, starting a new era of Ankara interpretation in Nigeria and Africa. The innovation has won her several local and international awards including the 2012 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week designer of the year, Africa. As well as features in Vogue Italia, British Vogue, Elle (South Africa), Ebony and Pride magazine, amongst other international press. Ituen Basi has also shown on runways in Dakar, Milan, Paris, London, Vienna, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Zambia and Memphis.

In 2014, Ituen Bassey was invited to be on the panel of both the Stanford Business Forum, and the Fashion Africa Conference in London as a speaker. She also took part in the Pitti (Milan) trade show under the Vogue Italia SUPER Talents and was invited by Vogue in 2019 to be on a panel as a speaker during the Conde Nast International Luxury Conference in Cape Town.  On Sunday, 10th November 2019  ITUEN BASI will showcase her newest collection on the runway



Huishan Zhang is one of London’s finest designers. Chinese-born and Dior Haute couture-trained, Huishan is the owner of the eponymous luxury brand, stocked worldwide at stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Harvey Nichols, Browns, amongst others.

Huishan Zhang has been mapping out his signature style since his days as a student at the world-renowned Arts and Design college, Central Saint Martins, London. In his 3rd year at college, Zhang was handpicked by the Director and Executive Vice President of Louis Vuitton, Delphine Arnault, to work in the House of Dior, Paris. In 2011, Huishan launched his fashion brand and by staying true to his heritage, he has created an opulent and fervently feminine aesthetic that has made his label a hit in the global fashion scene.

In 2014, Huishan was awarded the International Chinese Designer of the Year at the Elle China Style Awards. In the same year, he was named in the BOF 500 as one of the people shaping the Global Fashion Industry. In 2015, Huishan was a finalist for the LMVH Prize, he was also a recipient of the 2016 BFC Fashion Trust and a nominee for the 2017 Vogue Fashion Fund. Huishan Zhang would be showcasing on the 10th of November, 2019
